Service Description

DATE: September 11, 12, 13 (3 days) DESCRIPTION: Spend 3 days learning how to use site soils, as well as dry pottery clays, to make a variety of clay plaster recipes, then learn a variety of specialty application techniques with guidance from 2 professionals. You’ll get tips on sourcing materials, developing samples, timing, jobsite prep, and more! WHAT YOU LEARN: • understanding each ingredient & its role in your plaster/paint • sourcing clay & other materials • establishing recipes, including adding pigments • how to create reproducible samples • various specialty finishing techniques, such as sgraffito & burnishing PROJECT: We will add finish clay plasters and paints over existing clay walls This course is for you if… : you are a tradesperson that wants to add clay plaster to your repertoire. You will get the most out of this course if you have some plastering proficiency. Workshop Cancellation Policy Cancellations with more than 30 days notice have two options: 1. Receive a coupon code for the full workshop fee to use toward any future workshop 2. Receive a refund minus 10% processing fee Cancellation with 14 to 30 days notice receive 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 14 days of the course date.  Extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact workshops@buildnaturally.com if you need to cancel your participation. You receive a full refund if your workshop is cancelled by Down to Earth Design.
