DATE: August 25, 26, 27 (3 days) LOCATION: Zigbone Farm & Retreat in Sabillasville, MD DESCRIPTION: Learn how to make & install your own high-quality, traditional lime plaster! You’ll get experience mixing lime and applying it over strawbale walls. NOTE: this workshop is space limited and attendees must be at least 18 years old WHAT YOU LEARN: • introduction to lime plaster & understanding the different types of lime • understanding your materials • understanding the chemistry (yes, there's chemistry!) • how to work safely with lime • mixing techniques • how to prepare your wall surface • how to apply a basic lime plaster base coat • calculating quantities • tips for your own projects PROJECT: We will add a coat of lime plaster to an exterior strawbale wall at the ZigBone Farm Retreat, a naturally built retreat center on 100 acres in Maryland's Catoctin Mountains. This course is for you if… : you want to take the mystery out of lime plaster & learn how to create a traditional, durable, anti-microbial plaster. You do not need prior plastering experience! Cancellation Policy

Workshop Cancellation Policy Cancellations with more than 30 days notice have two options: 1. Receive a coupon code for the full workshop fee to use toward any future workshop 2. Receive a refund minus 10% processing fee Cancellation with 14 to 30 days notice receive 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 14 days of the course date.  Extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact workshops@buildnaturally.com if you need to cancel your participation. You receive a full refund if your workshop is cancelled by Down to Earth Design.
