Service Description
DATE: May 23, 24, 25, 26 (4 days) DESCRIPTION: Unique opportunity to spend 4 days learning several different natural building methods. Learn the basics of hempcrete, cob, and clay-based plaster all in one workshop! WHAT YOU LEARN: • basics of mixing & installing hempcrete • benefits of clay walls • understanding ingredients & the function each one serves • how to test site soil for clay content & establish your basic cob recipe • low-tech mixing techniques • hands-on experience building • plastering techniques & tips • passive solar design overview PROJECT: We will finish up a passive solar greenhouse structure on our farm, including insulating exterior foundation walls with hempcrete, completing a cob wall, and shaping walls with a versatile, fiber-rich clay plaster. Workshop Cancellation Policy Cancellations with more than 30 days notice have two options: 1. Receive a coupon code for the full workshop fee to use toward any future workshop 2. Receive a refund minus 10% processing fee Cancellation with 14 to 30 days notice receive 50% refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 14 days of the course date. Extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact workshops@buildnaturally.com if you need to cancel your participation. You receive a full refund if your workshop is cancelled by Down to Earth Design.
