Learn basic tool safety and basic jobsite competency from frame-to-finish carpenters Alex Norman & Sarah Gilbert Come build a sawhorse, frame a stud wall, and make some sawdust alongside two female frame-to-finish carpenters who are excited to share tricks of the trade. What you learn: • basic power tool use & safety – with loads of practice! Let’s make some sawdust!! • how to outfit your tool belt and the tools you need to show up on a jobsite with • construction jargon • basic house anatomy • ergonomics and leverage (moving ladders, plywood, heavy materials, etc.) • how to navigate tricky job site dynamics (especially as a woman in the trades) PROJECT: You will build a sawhorse to take home with you. This course is for you if… : you want the confidence to walk onto a job site with knowledge and a basic skill level (and a set of sawhorses to take home) WHAT’S INCLUDED: ✓ one-on-one guidance from frame-to-finish carpenters Sarah Gilbert & Alex Norman ✓ links to recommended hand tools ✓ hands-on experience with various tools & constructing a basic structure ✓ ample time for questions ✓ healthy lunch ✓ free tent camping onsite
